Baseball Preview: Uniontown Red Raiders vs. Ringgold Rams        
        
		
            The Uniontown Red Raiders will head out on the road to  challenge  the Ringgold Rams  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Ringgold took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Uniontown, who comes in off a win.
Uniontown took a loss when they played away from home  two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Thursday. They came out on top against Southmoreland by a score of  7-3. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Red Raiders as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Uniontown's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Jameson Carter, who  got on base  in all three of his plate appearances with one  run.  Luke Gresh also deserves some recognition as  he  hit his first  double of the season.
 Uniontown was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .414. The last time their  batting average was this high was  was before  the start of last season.
Meanwhile, Ringgold didn't have quite enough to beat West Mifflin on Tuesday and fell  5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by  just one  run.
 Anthony Koziel was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  struck out seven batters over  six innings while giving up just two earned  (and three unearned) runs off   four  hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Alex Kolano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with one  triple, one  run,  and one  RBI.  Sam Allen was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI.
 Ringgold dropped their record down to 4-8 with the  loss, which was their third straight  on the road. As for Uniontown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
 Uniontown skirted past Ringgold  2-1 in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
