Softball Recap: Bishop Hartley Snags Seventh Win in Last Eight Games

It was a Battle of the Birds when Bishop Hartley duked it out with Big Walnut on Tuesday. The Hawks came out on top against the Golden Eagles by a score of 8-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Hawks also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Jasmine Wooten made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Chelsea Gautier was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs. MaryKate LeMay also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Bishop Hartley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Big Walnut, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.

Looking ahead, Bishop Hartley will square off against Liberty Union at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Big Walnut, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dublin Scioto at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
