Conroe and Caney Creek's match on Friday was close at halftime, but Conroe turned on the heat in the second half with three goals. Everything went the Conroe Tigers' way against the Caney Creek Panthers as the Conroe Tigers made off with a 5-2 victory. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Panthers are ranked 485th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Conroe is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 39 goals over those ten games. Caney Creek's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Conroe will head out to face off against The Woodlands at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Caney Creek will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Grand Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on March 17th.
