Basketball Recap: Dawson Takes a Loss

After flying high against Rice last Thursday, Dawson came back down to earth. The Dawson Bulldogs came up short against the Teague Lions on Friday, falling 76-51. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Lions from their previous meeting back in December of 2022.

Teague's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Carter Stacks, who went 9 for 18 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds. Stacks continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zak Leija, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven steals and five assists.

Dawson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Teague, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-9.

Dawson will face off against Frost at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Teague, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Teague Lions challenge the Kerens Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
