Basketball Recap: Pioneer Now 10-2 over Last 12 Games

If McAllen wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Pioneer, they should've done a better job of containing Ebonie Chatman. The Pioneer Diamondbacks blew past the McAllen Bulldogs 54-28 on Tuesday thanks in part to Chatman, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played.

Anika Fleischmann was another key player, putting up two points along with 11 rebounds, seven blocks, and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in blocks.

Pioneer has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for McAllen, they dropped their record down to 14-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Pioneer will venture away from home to take on Sharyland at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sharyland comes in on three and Pioneer on four. As for McAllen, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vela at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Vela is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
