Soccer Game Preview: Palmer vs. Kenai Central

Palmer hasn't had much luck against Kenai Central recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Moose will head out to challenge the Kardinals at 1:30 p.m. Kenai Central took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Palmer, who comes in off a win.

Palmer took a three-goal loss the last time they faced off against Homer, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Moose came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mariners on Friday, sneaking past 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Palmer.

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Kenai Central and Soldotna, and Soldotna kept the tradition alive. The Kardinals fell 2-0 to the Stars on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty seven goals in the game before, Kenai Central's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Palmer pushed their record up to 11-3-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 31 goals over those six games. As for Kenai Central, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
