Basketball Recap: Pleasant View Christian Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Pleasant View Christian had lost five straight, but after bumping their record up to 6-6 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on South Haven Christian with a sharp 57-36 win. Surprisingly, this marked the Warriors' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Pleasant View Christian was led to victory by Hollynn Carney and Stephanie Sober. Carney dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 assists, while Sober went 6-for-11 en route to 14 points and six steals. Carney's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least 19 points. Jordan Roberts was another key player, putting up three points along with five assists and four steals.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Pleasant View Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

As for South Haven Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. Surprisingly, this marked their fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

When it comes to explaining why South Haven Christian lost, don't look at Sophia Ashley. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. Ashley has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Zoey Van Der Hengst, who posted ten points.
