Basketball Game Preview: Plano West Wolves vs. Plano Wildcats

The Plano West Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Plano Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Plano West's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Last Tuesday, Plano West came up short against Rock Hill and fell 67-60. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wolves came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Blue Hawks are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Plano was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 49-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Princeton.

Plano's loss dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Plano West, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-5.

Plano West was able to grind out a solid victory over Plano in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 55-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plano West since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
