Basketball Recap: Pathway Christian Triumphs

Pathway Christian's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 49-48 photo finish over the Unity Christian Knights. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 44-22 back in December of 2024.

Pathway Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryker Miller out in front who posted 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Denver Nelson, who earned eight points in addition to six boards and three steals.

Pathway Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Unity Christian only posted four assists.

Despite the loss, Unity Christian still got an impressive performance from Nathan Woessner, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. Those 24 points gave Woessner a new career-high. Thomas Hayes was another key player, putting up six points.

The win got Pathway Christian back to even at 9-9. As for Unity Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Pathway Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-65 victory against Rivermont Collegiate on the 4th. Unity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
