Football Recap: Kankakee Valley Comes Up Short

Kankakee Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 17-7 to the Hanover Central Wildcats. If the Kougars were looking for revenge after losing 42-14 to the Wildcats when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hanover Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dominic Giglio, who rushed for 71 yards and one score. The Wildcats also got a significant boost from Isaiah Buikema, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 102 yards.

Kankakee Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hanover Central, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Looking ahead, Kankakee Valley will square off against Culver Academies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last. As for Hanover Central, they will head out to face off against Munster at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
