Baseball Recap: Jessieville Comes Up Short

Jessieville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 13-3 to the Dover Pirates. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lions of the 13-12 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2022.

Jessieville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Justin Meredith, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. The Lions are 3-1 when Meredith posts two or more runs, but 0-10 otherwise.

Jessieville's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Dover, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jessieville will take on Bismarck at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dover, they will venture away from home to take on Russellville at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
