Greenacres Christian comes up short despite David Mine's dominant performance

Recap: Greenacres Christian Panthers vs. Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans

If the Greenacres Christian Panthers were feeling good off their 77-40 takedown of Varsity Opponent last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Greenacres Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 83-82 to Somerset College Prep Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Friday (77), Greenacres Christian still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Greenacres Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is David Mine. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 rebounds. Mine continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Barthelemy, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.

Greenacres Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12.

Greenacres Christian won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests. As for Somerset College Prep Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pine at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
