Baseball Recap: Riverbank Bruins vs. Delhi Hawks
Riverbank was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delhi Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-5 last Tuesday.
Riverbank saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cody Martin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Esteban Ruiz also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Riverbank's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Delhi, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-1.
Riverbank will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bret Harte at 4:00 p.m. on March 14th. As for Delhi, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, an 8-4 loss against Johansen on the 27th.
