Central Cabarrus took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They walked away with a 67-59 victory over the Concord Spiders. For the Vikings, this counts as revenge for the 67-59 win the Spiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Central Cabarrus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Parker Watkins led the charge by putting up 19 points and five assists. Dexter Montague was another key player, shooting 55% from the field on his way to 15 points and five rebounds.

Defeat or not, Concord got some senior leadership from Jayden Beyan and Kyzen Coleman. Beyan posted 17 points along with seven assists and three steals, while Coleman went 6-for-14 en route to 12 points and six boards. Beyan has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of CJ Beckford, who earned seven points.

Coincidentally, Central Cabarrus and Concord will both be playing Mount Pleasant the next time they take the court. The Spiders will host the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, while the Vikings will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
