Basketball Game Preview: Phoenix Academy Firebirds vs. Clover Garden School Grizzlies

Having just played yesterday, the Phoenix Academy Firebirds will head out on the road to face off against the Clover Garden School Grizzlies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Phoenix Academy was beaten by Wesleyan Christian Academy 86-44. While losing is never fun, the Firebirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 549th, while the Trojans are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, Clover Garden School was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 71-66 to Bethany Community. The Grizzlies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Clover Garden School's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Phoenix Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-17.
