Baseball Recap: Walnut Hills' Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Walnut Hills came into Tuesday's contest having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Western Hills Mustangs 9-2 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Aidan Smith made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (two). He was also solid in the batter's box, earning one RBI, one run, and three stolen bases.

In other batting news, Connor Tunning was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Walnut Hills is undefeated when Tunning posts two or more runs, but 0-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Braylon Dennis, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Walnut Hills' record now sits at 4-10. As for Western Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.
