Baseball Game Preview: Anahuac Panthers vs. Kountze Lions

The Anahuac Panthers will face off against the Kountze Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Anahuac is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 16 runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Buna on Friday. They came up short against the Cougars, falling 14-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since March 7th.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kountze, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Orangefield on Friday by a score of 4-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Kountze's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Anahuac, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season.

Anahuac couldn't quite get it done against Kountze when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-3. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
