Football Recap: Lake Roosevelt Drops Season-High Score on Odessa

Lake Roosevelt extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They lost 68-48 to the Odessa Tigers. On the bright side, the 48- point effort marked the Raiders' highest-scoring contest to date.

Despite the loss, Lake Roosevelt still got an impressive performance from Terrell Bush, who rushed for 195 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also picked up 112 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Bush's longest rush was for an impressive 62 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Kayman Jordan was another key player, throwing for 198 yards and two TDs.

Even if they lost, Lake Roosevelt's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Jace Lewis. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 7 total tackles per game.

As for Odessa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 53.2 points this season.

Odessa's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon McMillan, who picked up 178 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 89 yards and one score on only eight carries. McMillan didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made six total tackles. Hudson Watson also helped with four TDs in total.

Lake Roosevelt has already played their next game, a 1-0 defeat against Manson on the 4th. As for Odessa, they will take on Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
