Baseball Recap: Chicago Hope Academy Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Chicago Hope Academy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Wheaton Academy Warriors 6-4. The win was nothing new for Chicago Hope Academy as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Jayden Rivera tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Dominic Bonilla, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Wheaton Academy, they moved to 13-11 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
