Softball Recap: Caldwell's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Caldwell's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Emmett Huskies 12-2. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Huskies last Tuesday, they had to take a 8-3 defeat.

Bristol Runnels spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Caldwell got a massive performance out of Ruby Balderaz, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits Balderaz has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Rylie Felton, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI.

Caldwell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .472. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Caldwell's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10. As for Emmett, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Caldwell will square off against Middleton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Emmett, they will face off against Columbia at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
