Basketball Game Preview: Davenport Broncos vs. George Jenkins Eagles

The Davenport Broncos will square off against the George Jenkins Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Back in December of 2024, Davenport was able to grind out a solid victory over Osceola, taking the game 41-31.

Meanwhile, George Jenkins won against Kathleen on Friday with 55 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. George Jenkins managed a 55-50 win over Lake Region. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Davenport better focus on containing Zakharia Rutledge and Taylor Gibson as the pair were huge in George Jenkins' win. Rutledge went 9 of 17 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, while Gibson dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

George Jenkins' victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.4 points. As for Davenport, the win got them back to even at 4-4.
