Volleyball Recap: Masconomet Regional Has No Trouble Against Peabody Veterans Memorial

Masconomet Regional lost to Peabody Veterans Memorial back in September, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Chieftains blew past the Tanners 3-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chieftains.

While Masconomet Regional might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Peabody Veterans Memorial scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 26-24, 25-22.

Masconomet Regional can attribute much of their success to Lidia Benedetto, who had nine digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Benedetto a new career-high in assists (four).

Benedetto wasn't the only good servers: Masconomet Regional was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in ten consecutive matches.

Masconomet Regional now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.
