Softball Game Preview: Lenox Memorial Millionaires vs. Smith Vo-Tech Vikings

Lenox Memorial has gone a perfect 3-0 against Smith Vo-Tech recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Millionaires will square off against the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. Lenox Memorial will come into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

Lenox Memorial's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when Monument Mountain hitters got past them. The Millionaires walked away with a 15-11 victory over the Spartans on Tuesday.

Grace Julieano was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Hailey Armold, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Lenox Memorial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .394 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Smith Vo-Tech's offense. They lost 8-0 to Lee on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Vikings in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost four in a row.

Lenox Memorial's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Smith Vo-Tech, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Everything went Lenox Memorial's way against Smith Vo-Tech when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Lenox Memorial made off with a 19-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Millionaires since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
