Volleyball Game Preview: Kennedy Fighting Irish vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs

The Kennedy Fighting Irish will head out to challenge the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kennedy will be strutting in after a win while Costa Mesa will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, Kennedy made easy work of Laguna Hills and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Fighting Irish in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won six in a row.

While Kennedy might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Laguna Hills scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa came up short against Tustin on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-21.

Costa Mesa's defeat dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Kennedy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-9-1.

Kennedy took their win against Costa Mesa when the teams last played back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fighting Irish since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
