Recap: San Marcos HomeSchool Panthers vs. Southlake Carroll Dragons
On Thursday, San Marcos HomeSchool came up short against Southlake Carroll and fell 61-50. While losing is never fun, San Marcos HomeSchool can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Southlake Carroll is ranked 23rd).
Despite the loss, San Marcos HomeSchool still got an impressive performance from Kayla McGarity, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 10 rebounds. McGarity scored a full 50% of San Marcos HomeSchool's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kendall Beck was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 10 points and 13 rebounds.
San Marcos HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Southlake Carroll, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.
San Marcos HomeSchool will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Mansfield Summit at 10:30 a.m. on December 1st. As for Southlake Carroll, they will take on East Central at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully East Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday.
