Football Game Preview: South San Antonio Bobcats vs. Southwest Dragons + Official Tickets

South San Antonio hasn't had much luck against Southwest recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Bobcats will take on the Dragons at 7:30 p.m.

It was a proper cat-fight when South San Antonio took on Martin on Friday. The Bobcats took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers.

South San Antonio's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Anthony Mata, who threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns, and Ethan Segura, who picked up 95 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Southwest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past Southside to the tune of 33-0. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Dragons had established a 27-point advantage.

South San Antonio better keep an eye on Aadreaz Voss. He was instrumental in Southwest's win, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of TDs. Voss didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Ty'Shawn Holder made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.

Southwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Holder and Felipe Muniz. Holder got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

South San Antonio's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Southwest, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

South San Antonio suffered a grim 32-9 defeat to Southwest in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
