Softball Recap: Richland Beats Argyle for Their Fourth Straight Win

Richland waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Argyle Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Royals also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Stacy Jennings was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

Jennings wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mia Berain, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Richland's victory bumped their record up to 9-3-2. As for Argyle, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

Richland will take on Denton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Argyle, they will square off against Grapevine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Grapevine is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.
