Basketball Game Preview: Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers vs. Grinnell Tigers

Center Point-Urbana and Grinnell are an even 4-4 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Grinnell Tigers at 7:30 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Center Point-Urbana was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Clear Creek-Amana. The Stormin' Pointers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Grinnell hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They secured a 53-49 W over Independence on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly four points.

Center Point-Urbana's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-4. As for Grinnell, their victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Center Point-Urbana couldn't quite finish off Grinnell in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 52-49. Can Center Point-Urbana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
