Baseball Recap: Taft School Gets the Win

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Taft School ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They won by a run and slipped past the Avon Old Farms Beavers 6-5. That's two games straight that the Big Red have won by just one run.

Taft School's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Lefkowitz, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Lefkowitz has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Taft School pushed their record up to 13-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Avon Old Farms, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.

As of now, neither Taft School nor the Beavers have any future games scheduled.
