Basketball Recap: Northern Adirondack's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Northern Adirondack won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They came up short against the Moriah Vikings, falling 74-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bobcats have suffered since February 8, 2024.

Cooper Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Moriah, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 15 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Moriah's points. Another player making a difference was Chase McGinness, who posted 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Northern Adirondack's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3. As for Moriah, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-2.

Northern Adirondack will challenge Harrisville at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Harrisville will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Northern Adirondack surely won't give up without a fight. As for Moriah, they will square off against Schroon Lake at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Moriah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Schroon Lake likes a good challenge.
