Baseball Recap: Green Mountain's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Green Mountain had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 11-7-1 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Littleton Lions by a score of 6-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-5 back in April.

Sam Desalvo was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Green Mountain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Littleton only managed six hits.

As for Littleton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

On Littleton's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Calonder, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double. Thomas Kusner was another, going 3-for-4 with one double.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Mountain will take on Pomona at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Littleton, they will square off against Conifer at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lobos have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
