Softball Recap: Indian Creek Drops Season-High Score on Brooke

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indian Creek). They put the hurt on the Brooke Bruins with a sharp 14-3 victory on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now won six in a row.

Payton Rath made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Rath was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Kylie Dray was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Riley Sadler, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Indian Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in four consecutive games.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Brooke, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Indian Creek will host Carrollton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Brooke will be paying especially close attention to the Redskins' contest: after the Redskins faces off against the Warriors, they'll take on Brooke again at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
