Softball Game Preview: Middletown South Eagles vs. Matawan Regional Huskies

The Middletown South Eagles will face off against the Matawan Regional Huskies at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Middletown South is looking to give their home crowd another W after opening their season at home on Monday. They never let Monmouth Regional get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Matawan Regional had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell just short of Raritan by a score of 3-2 on Monday.

Middletown South took their win against Matawan Regional in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3. Will Middletown South repeat their success, or does Matawan Regional has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
