Glen Rose won the last time they faced Venus and Judd Connally did his part to make sure it happened again. The Tigers simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Bulldogs 70-0 with plenty of help from Connally, who threw for 155 yards and four TDs on only 12 passes, and also rushed for 36 yards and one touchdown. His passing game has become a key predictor of Glen Rose's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 0-4 otherwise.

Glen Rose didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Riot Sullivan and Luke Males. Sullivan got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory (which was Glen Rose's third in a row) raised their record to 3-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.7 points on average over those games. As for Venus, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Glen Rose will take on rival Benbrook at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That contest will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Connally and Brennan Barton. Meanwhile, Venus is set to square off against their familiar foe Godley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
