Baseball Recap: Algona Extends Winning Streak to Four

Algona strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS 14-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won three games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Algona pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Algona will face off against Emmetsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS, they will square off against West Bend-Mallard at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
