Soccer Recap: Round Lake Takes a Loss

After flying high against North Chicago on Tuesday, Round Lake came back down to earth. The Panthers fell just short of the Larkin Royals by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. Round Lake were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Larkin apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Round Lake's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Larkin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5-3.

Looking ahead, Round Lake will take on Antioch at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Round Lake will be up against Antioch's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.75 goals per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Larkin, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against West Aurora on the 4th.
