Basketball Game Preview: Sulphur Golden Tors vs. Barbe Buccaneers

Sulphur is 2-8 against Barbe since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Sulphur Golden Tors will host the Barbe Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. Sulphur is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 11 games.

Last Friday, Sulphur was able to grind out a solid win over Carencro, taking the game 48-37. Given the Golden Tors' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Bears are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Barbe beat Lafayette 56-46 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Buccaneers.

Barbe's victory bumped their record up to 25-15. As for Sulphur, they pushed their record up to 29-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Everything went Sulphur's way against Barbe in their previous meeting back in January, as Sulphur made off with a 53-33 victory. Will Sulphur repeat their success, or does Barbe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
