San Benito is 8-2 against Hanna since September of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Greyhounds will challenge the Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. San Benito is looking for their season's first win.

In Friday's Canine Competition, San Benito didn't have enough. They were outmatched by Carthage and fell 41-3. While losing is never fun, the Greyhounds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 24th).

Meanwhile, Hanna played a tough matchup on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Mission Veterans Memorial, falling 42-19. The Golden Eagles haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

San Benito's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Hanna, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

San Benito didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hanna in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 26-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Greyhounds since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
