Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Josiah Hawkins and Jadyn Lee Lead Munford to Victory

Munford proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 27) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Covington Chargers 72-69. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Munford was led to victory by JaDyn Lee and Josiah Hawkins. Lee went 10 for 19 on his way to 25 points and eight boards, while Hawkins went 7 of 11 en route to 18 points and four steals. Lee's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Elisha Patrick, who posted ten points and three steals.

The win got Munford back to even at 8-8. As for Covington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Munford has already played their next match (against Raleigh-Egypt), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Covington wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 85-50 victory against Craigmont on the 17th.
