Soccer Game Preview: Cigarroa vs. Martin

Cigarroa hasn't had much luck against Martin recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Toros will square off against the Tigers at 8:00 p.m. Cigarroa has given up an average of 3.6 goals per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cigarroa fell victim to Juarez-Lincoln and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Cigarroa can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 681st, while Juarez-Lincoln are ranked 337th).

Meanwhile, Martin didn't have quite enough to beat Mission on Tuesday and fell 3-2.

Cigarroa's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Martin, they now have a losing record of 4-5-1.

Cigarroa couldn't quite get it done against Martin in their previous meeting back in December of 2025 as they fell 3-1. Can the Toros avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
