Softball Recap: Huntington Has No Trouble Against Trimble

Huntington's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They put the hurt on the Trimble Tomcats with a sharp 15-5 win. Considering the Huntsmen have won six matches by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Allie Baker, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Potter, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Huntington kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Huntington's victory bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Trimble, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Huntington will square off against Southeastern at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Huntsmen are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Trimble, they will challenge Belpre at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
