Football Recap: Centerville Bulldogs vs. West St. John Rams

A win for Centerville just wasn't in the cards on Thursday as the squad wasn't able to take the lead at any point. They had to suffer through a 40-6 loss at the hands of the West St. John Rams. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Centerville saw an underclassman step up: freshman Tyrius Hardy rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries. The dominant performance gave Hardy a new career-high in rushing yards.

West St. John found their leader in freshman Kalon Gardner, who rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Those 215 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Gardner.

Centerville now has a losing record at 4-5. As for West St. John, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
