Softball Recap: Tinley Park's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Tinley Park waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Thornton Fractional South Red Wolves a 14-0 shutout. The Titans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by ten runs or more this season.

Emily Korduplewski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last 11 contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.

In other batting news, Sarah Aggen was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Megan Piotrowski, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Tinley Park hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Tinley Park's victory bumped their record up to 16-10. As for Thornton Fractional South, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-21 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tinley Park will square off against Evergreen Park at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thornton Fractional South, they will host Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
