Softball Game Preview: La Crescent Lancers vs. Triton Cobras

The La Crescent Lancers will challenge the Triton Cobras at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.

Triton is facing La Crescent at the wrong time: La Crescent suffered their first home loss of the season on Friday and they're likely out for redemption. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ramblers. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Lancers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Nadia Woodard was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Triton, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Kenyon-Wanamingo on Thursday, sneaking past 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cobras have posted since April 29, 2025.

La Crescent's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Triton, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

Everything went La Crescent's way against Triton in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, as La Crescent made off with a 15-1 victory. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Cobras have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
