Baseball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

Lewis-Palmer came out on top against Discovery Canyon on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Rangers walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Thunder. The Rangers haven't had any issues with the Thunder recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alvin Jarrell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, JW Babbitt looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

Jarrell wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Fox, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Lewis-Palmer's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Discovery Canyon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Lewis-Palmer and Discovery Canyon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings. The Rangers (ranked eighth) will meet Rampart (ranked 166th) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, Discovery Canyon will challenge Liberty at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (27 vs. 123).
