Roane County proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 35) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tellico Plains Bears, sneaking past 83-81. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Roane County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Layne, who went 11 of 21 on his way to 36 points and eight rebounds. Aiden O'Leary was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 20 points and five boards.

Roane County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Roane County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season. As for Tellico Plains, with the defeat, they broke their 17-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-2.

Roane County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, an 80-53 win against Sweetwater on the 28th. Tellico Plains has also already played their next game (against Polk County), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
