Recap: Kingstree Blazers vs. Marion Swamp Foxes
The Kingstree Blazers entered their tilt with the Marion Swamp Foxes with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Kingstree came out on top in a nail-biter against Marion on Tuesday and snuck past 42-39. That's another feather in the cap for Kingstree, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Kingstree to victory were NAYDIA SHAW and MAKAYLA DUKES. SHAW dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while DUKES scored 13 points along with eight steals and seven assists. DUKES is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least five every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was JAIDEN MCKNIGHT, who scored a point along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
Marion lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Maliyah Williams, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeda Davis, who scored eight points along with seven steals.
Kingstree's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Marion, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Kingstree will head out on the road to face off against Andrews at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Kingstree is facing Andrews at the right time seeing as Andrews is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for Marion, they will be playing at home against Lee Central at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lee Central's defense has only allowed 26.1 points per game this season, so Marion's offense will have their work cut out for them.
