Softball Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Diamond Bar Brahmas

Walnut hasn't had much luck against Diamond Bar recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Mustangs will square off against the Brahmas at 3:30 p.m. Walnut has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bonita hit Walnut with a nine-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs lost 11-3 to the Bearcats.

Peyton Schilz made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Diamond Bar came up short against Ayala on Wednesday, falling 25-1. The Brahmas have struggled against the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Walnut now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Diamond Bar, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Walnut couldn't quite finish off Diamond Bar in their previous meeting two weeks ago and fell 2-0. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
