Basketball Recap: Sandy Creek Find Success

Sandy Creek hadn't done well against Fairbury recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Sandy Creek Cougars managed a 50-46 victory over the Fairbury Jeffs. This was payback for the Cougars, who suffered a 51-35 loss the last time these two teams met.

Several Jeffs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izzy Ohlde, who posted 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That's the most assists Ohlde has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Micah Friesen, who earned eight points and 11 boards.

Sandy Creek pushed their record up to 11-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game.
