Baseball Recap: Voyager Academy Wins Going Away Against Eno River Academy

The matchup between Voyager Academy and Eno River Academy on Tuesday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 19-2 margin over the Bobcats. Considering the Vikings have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Marshall Hambrick made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, earning two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Aidan Daly was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacobi Purvis also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Voyager Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eno River Academy only posted a batting average of .125.

Voyager Academy's record is now 14-2. As for Eno River Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Voyager Academy has already played their next game, an 11-2 win against Chapel Hill on the 23rd. Hopefully Eno River Academy paid attention to the Vikings' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
